These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Lantern, a visual feedback and bug tracking platform operated by Augmt ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Definitions
"Service" means the Lantern platform, including the dashboard at lantern.augmt.xyz, the embeddable widget, and the API at api.lantern.augmt.xyz.
"Organisation" means a workspace created within Lantern that contains projects, members, and data.
"Content" means any data you submit through the Service, including screenshots, recordings, comments, attachments, and error logs.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. One person may not maintain more than one free account.
3. Plans and Billing
Lantern offers free and paid subscription plans. Paid plans are billed monthly in Australian Dollars (AUD) via Stripe.
Your subscription renews automatically each billing cycle unless you cancel before the renewal date.
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — no partial refunds are issued.
We may change plan pricing with 30 days' notice. Price changes do not affect your current billing period.
If payment fails, your account may be restricted to read-only access until the payment method is updated.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to violate any laws in your jurisdiction.
Upload content that is malicious, harmful, or infringes on the intellectual property rights of others.
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts, or connected systems.
Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers connected to the Service.
Use the Service to collect personal data of end users without their consent or in violation of applicable privacy laws.
Exceed the usage limits of your plan through automated means or circumvent rate limits.
5. Your Content
You retain ownership of all Content you submit to the Service.
You grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display your Content solely to provide the Service to you.
We do not access, review, or use your Content for any purpose other than operating the Service, unless required by law.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit any Content, including screenshots and recordings that may capture third-party content or personal information.
6. Privacy and Data
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to our collection and use of data as described in the Privacy Policy.
7. Widget and End Users
If you embed the Lantern widget on your website:
You are responsible for informing your end users that feedback data (including screenshots and recordings) may be collected.
You must comply with all applicable privacy laws regarding data collected from your end users through the widget.
We process end-user data on your behalf as a data processor. You remain the data controller.
8. Integrations
The Service may integrate with third-party services (e.g. Jira, Slack, Google). Your use of these integrations is subject to the respective third-party terms. We are not responsible for the availability or behaviour of third-party services.
9. Service Availability
We aim to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Service.
We may perform maintenance with reasonable notice. Emergency maintenance may occur without prior notice.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service with 30 days' notice.
10. Termination
You may delete your Organisation at any time from the Settings page. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, with notice where practicable.
Upon termination, your Content will be deleted in accordance with our data retention practices.
Active Stripe subscriptions are automatically cancelled when an Organisation is deleted.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Augmt shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or revenue arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or an in-app notice at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
